Within the framework of Operation Artemisa, the Thirteenth Brigade of the National Army, National Natural Parks of Colombia and other State institutions, coordinate efforts for the conservation of nature in the Department of Cundinamarca.
In the Chingaza National Natural Park, two hours from Bogot谩, in the Department of Cundinamarca, on the weekend, a sowing activity of 100 units of frailej贸n was carried out on the eco-tourist trail La Libertad, within the protected area.
The activity was part of the inauguration of the trail, which was built by the park workers of the protected area with the support of the soldiers of this tactical unit of the National Army. In the same way, the brigade's plants nursery soldiers were certified, who learned by the National Parks about the propagation of life forms in Paramos ecosystems.
It is important to note that the activities are conducted in commemoration of the first year of operations that have been conducted for the protection and restoration of ecosystems as the germination of seedlings of Paramo, mostly of frailej贸n; the planting of the seedlings; cleaning of water sources; the support in the mitigation of forest fires; the recovery of the animals of wildlife and environmental education, among others.
The event was chaired by brigadier General David Leonardo G贸mez, Commander of Brigade no.13; Carolina Jarro, deputy director of administration and Management of National Parks and the work of Sofia Gomez, Cristian Alzate of the Colombian Olympic Committee, as well as representatives of the institutions Asodeco, United Nations University, the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Cundinamarca, National Parks of Colombia, the Botanical Garden, the Aqueduct of Bogot谩, the Secretariat of Environment, the University Los Andes and the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development; this demonstrated the Great Union of efforts for the protection of Natural Resources.
The tenth Third Brigade, attached to the Fifth Division of the Army, works with the environmental bubble Plan, from 2020, in favor of the restoration and protection of ecosystems in a team work, inter-institutional and interagency with environmental authorities and civil authorities that ensure the preservation of the fauna and flora of our country.
