Soldiers of the Military Operations Command Apolo prevented this group, commanded by alias Pirulo, from attacking the inhabitants of the rural area of Santander de Quilichao, in the north of Cauca.
The operation of Colombian National Army against illegal armed groups in Cauca is constant. In a powerful operation, the troops neutralized the threat of a member of the dissidents Dagoberto Ramos, and wounded three other individuals, who were given first aid by combat nurses.
This operation took place in the village of Tres Quebradas, of Santander de Quilichao, at the moment when the troops of the Military Operations Command Apolo engaged combat against members of this structure, who planned to carry out criminal operations against the inhabitants from a vehicle.
These individuals would integrate the criminal group of alias Pirulo, who would be in charge of collecting money from extortions, conducting terrorist operations and attacking the Military Forces in the north of the department.
In the framework of this operation, a rifle, a pistol, magazines, ammunition of different calibers and the vehicle from which the members of this armed group were shooting, were in the same way found.
With regard to the injured men, they are receiving medical assistance at a hospital in Santander de Quilichao, under surveillance and custody of the National Police.
An extensive military deployment continues throughout the department of Cauca to counter the criminal activity of these illegal armed groups, fulfilling the unrestricted commitment to protect the Caucans.
