In joint, coordinated and inter-agency military operations, carried out by troops of the National Army, the Colombian Air Force, the National Police, the Attorney General's Office and assisting the recommendations of early alerts 029 of 2018 and 004 of 2020, it was possible the death in military operations of six individuals, apparently belonging to the residual GAO E-18. In the same way, it was possible the capture of one more individual and the seizure of war material and military supplies.
As a result of the military operation in the north of Antioquia and thanks to alerts from Information Networks, members of the Army and the Police Forces arrived at the village of La Barranca, in the rural area of the municipality of Ituango, Antioquia, where there was a strategic attack against the terrorists of this GAO that commits crimes in the sector.
During the military operation it was also possible to find six long rifle-type weapons, two machine rifles, three short rifles, 18 magazines, 800 cartridges, military material and items for the analysis of military intelligence. The military operation was informed to public opinion after accompanying the process of identification of the bodies and the individual captured, who were put into custody of the judicial authorities.
The military maneuver is still under way in the area of operations, to find the ringleader of this organized armed group.
The continuous military operations against terrorists of the GAO-r E-18 in the Los Mandarinos sector, rural area of the municipality of La Granja, in Ituango, Antioquia, led to the death of another of its members.
This result heavily hits the command and control of the GAO-r E-18, neutralizes the terrorist operations it intended to carry out against the communities and the Military Forces, and besides hits the drug trafficking routes through the paths in the Nudo de Paramillo.
