Decisive military operations against the residual GAO E-48 Comandos de Frontera contribute to peace and security in Putumayo

Contundentes operaciones militares en contra del GAO residual E-48 Comandos de Frontera contribuyen a la paz y seguridad del Putumayo

During 2024, the threat of 29 members of illegal groups have been neutralized, and 19 arrests have been made in combat.

 

Troops of the Twenty-seventh Rainforest Brigade fought against the Mecaya mobile Armed group, of the Residual Organized Armed Group, Structure 48 Comandos de Frontera, in La Piñuña Negro, municipality of Puerto Leguízamo, department of Putumayo, where military operations are underway to protect the inhabitants, the constitutional and legal order and governance.

 

At the end of the mission, one of the members of this illegal group was found dead. The Judicial Police seized a high-precision rifle, a pistol, 23 units of campaign equipment, magazines, ammunition of different calibers, food, elements for launching explosive devices, a large amount of explosives and communication equipment. 

 

The group would be directed by alias Kevin, with about 50 men, who carry out terrorist operations in the municipalities of Puerto Guzmán, Puerto Asís and Puerto Caicedo, department of Putumayo, and in the department of Cauca, which generated anxiety in the inhabitants in these areas of the country.

 

Colombian National Army reaffirms its commitment to the security of Colombians, and continues to conduct military operations against illegal armed groups throughout the department, thwarting their criminal intentions, and thus working for the good life condition and tranquility of the inhabitants in this region of the department.
