The heavy military operation and the tireless campaigns promoted by the command of the Twelfth Brigade of the Sixth Division of Colombian National Army, are beginning to give the first results for this year 2025, helping members of organized armed groups to make the decision to surrender to justice.
In the framework of military operations, units of the Twelfth Brigade of the Sixth Division of Colombian National Army, report the surrender to justice of an individual, a member of the residual organized armed group Structure 48 Comandos de Frontera, in the municipality of Curillo, department of Caquetá.
Alias El Pollo allegedly was the main ringleader of the guerrilla finance and command structure, in which he remained for five years, having criminal interference on different villages in municipalities of the departments of Caquetá and Cauca.
It should in the same way be noted that, at the time of this individual's surrender to justice, it was possible to find an assault rifle, 487 5.56 caliber cartridges, 5 magazines, different military accessories and communications equipment.
Simultaneously, in the municipality of Solita, in coordination with the National Police, it was possible to arrest an individual belonging to the support networks for the residual structures that are part of the Raúl Reyes Structure, who was acting as coordinator of urban and logistical militias of this structure.
This individual, who for more than three years was part of the support networks for residual structures, would have participated in several criminal acts, including the murder of a reserve soldier, on May 15, 2024, in the La Vega neighborhood, municipality of Solita, department of Caquetá.
The individual was put into custody of the authorities in the department of Caquetá, because he was wanted by judicial order for the crime of homicide and manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms.
On the other hand, in the village of Santa Marta, in the municipality of San Vicente del Caguán, through military intelligence work, an illegal hideout was found, which contained 4 plastic barrels of 5 gallons each, with 125 kilograms of ANFO-like substance (explosive). This material had been stored in an abandoned house on the main road that connects the municipality of San Vicente del Caguán with the municipality of Puerto Rico.
The Twelfth Brigade of the Sixth Division of Colombian National Army will continue to carry out military operations that dismantle the different criminal organizations that converge in the department of Caquetá. In the same way, it will ensure, through the deployment of its men, for the security and tranquility of the inhabitants for this year 2025.
