After a Security Council held yesterday to analyze the situation in the North of Valle, the Minister of Defense, Diego Molano Aponte, rejected the murder of the six-year-old child, Dylan Espinoza Loaiza, which occurred due to the dispute over drug trafficking in this area of the country.

In his speech and accompanied by the Military and Police Commanders, the governor of Valle del Cauca, the mayor of Alcalá, Cartago and Obando, Minister Molano announced the implementation of a special plan to combat microtrafficking and drug trafficking, in honor of little Dylan.

“Microtrafficking is the great evil that harms the cities and takes the life, the peace and the hope of children and young people; that is why we defined a special plan against the microtrafficking in the municipalities, with the aim of dismantling the microtrafficking points, arresting those involved in the business, the jíbaros (direct sellers), the criminal structures behind this business, of course, the correct and proper legal procedures in collaboration with the office of the Prosecutor General of the Nation,” said the Minister of Defence.

“A joint operation will be carried out by our Army and the National Police, to achieve territorial control over the entire route Obando - Villa Rodas - Piedras de Moler - Alcalá, a sector where criminal activities, extortion, drug trafficking and firearms trafficking are concentrated today. Our Military Forces will work there in order to guarantee protection, security, control of territory, so that tranquility returns,” he said at a press meeting.

The head of the ministry of Defense considered that “no Colombian should die or get involved in a territorial dispute between criminal groups because life is sacred and the Military Forces seek to protect the lives of all Colombians.”

He emphatically rejected the action that territorial disputes and illegal businesses harm the lives of children, youth and adolescents.

In addition, the Minister of Defense informed that thanks to the collaboration of the Government of Valle del Cauca and the Mayor of Alcalá, a common fund will be formed for the payment of rewards of up to $180 million, $100 million by the Government, and $80 million by the Mayor, for whoever provides information that leads to the finding and arrested of the responsible ones for the recent homicide of three people.

Finally, Molano said that a special plan will be carried out to strengthen Resources in the department, therefore, it was agreed to implement a scholarship plan that leads to incorporate young people of the municipalities of the North of Valle, so that they enter the National Police as patrollers and after graduation, they remain in the municipalities supporting police services for these inhabitants.
