As a result of the permanent and continuous operations that the Seventh Division of Colombian National Army has been carrying out against all illegal organizations, an important ringleader of the residual GAO Structure 36, of the FARC, in the department of Antioquia, was eliminated in military operations.
The military action took place in the village of Palmichal, in the municipality of Briceño, where soldiers of the Rapid Deployment Force Nº 7, in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office, killed alias el Turco, who would be the fourth ringleader of the group led by the individual alias Primo Gay, of the aforementioned gang.
This individual, who in his criminal beginnings belonged to the Heroes of Tarazá group, of the Eln, was in the same way an expert in the handling and installation of explosives, and was frightening the rural inhabitants of the municipalities of Briceño and Yarumal, through threats and the collection of money from extortions.
In the same operation, a 7.62mm caliber galil rifle, more than 240 war cartridges of the same caliber and 5 magazines were in the same way seized, as well as a communications radio, a cellular telephone and elements and military accessories.
