Within the framework of the Ayacucho Joint Strategic Campaign Plan, soldiers of the Joint Task Force Marte found two improvised explosive devices, IEDs, in the Chagüí Mine village of Santa Rosa del Sur, department of Bolívar, a few meters from an educational center.
The explosives planted, apparently by members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, Edgar Madrid Benjumea Substructure, would be activated against the inhabitants of the area and personnel of the Military Forces that provides security in the region.
Once this terrorist threat was identified, troops of the 112th Ground Combat Battalion, with its Explosives and Demolition Equipment, activated the security protocols to carry out the detonation of the explosive charges in a controlled way, without causing collateral damage.
The Joint Task Force Marte rejects the use of this type of explosive devices that violate human rights and transgress international humanitarian law, through the use of unconventional means and methods of warfare.
This military unit, attached to the First Division of Colombian National Army, will file the respective denunciations with the authorities.
