The man would have more than 15 years of criminal experience and would be responsible for stimulating illicit activities in Bolivar and Sucre.
Within the framework of territorial control and security operations, Colombian Navy troops, in coordination with the National Police, arrested two people in the village of Loma Arena, municipality of Santa Catalina, department of Bolivar.
The operation was carried out through a checkpoint, where an individual wanted by court order was arrested, accused of being the alleged third ringleader of the focused criminal component of the Nicolás Antonio Urango Reyes substructure of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.
During the procedure, a woman was in the same way arrested. According to preliminary information, armed individuals accompanying the arrested man allegedly attacked the security forces, prompting an immediate response by the troops, which neutralized the threat and carry out the arrests.
According to the authorities, alias Willy Wonka would have criminal interference in several municipalities of Bolívar and Sucre, including Arjona, Cartagena, Clemencia, Córdoba department, El Carmen de Bolívar, Magangué, María la Baja, San Jacinto, San Juan de Nepomuceno, Turbaco and Villanueva. He would in the same way be part of the group of the most wanted in the department of Sucre and would have more than 15 years of criminal experience, playing different roles within the organization, currently linked to extortion activities.
In the operation, a pistol-type firearm, magazines, ammunition and communication equipment were seized, elements that will be fundamental for the investigative process.
Those arrested and the items found were put into custody of the authorities for their respective prosecution.
