In the department of Cauca, Colombian Navy arrested six people and seized more than 10 thousand gallons of fuel
As part of river search and control operations, the Colombian Navy seized more than ten thousand gallons of smuggled fuel, immobilized two boats and arrested six people on the Limones River, municipality of Guapi, department of Cauca.
The operation was carried out by units attached to the Navy Infantry Brigade No. 4 that, during river control work on the Limones River, they intercepted two boats carrying 46 barrels with approximately 2,530 gallons of gasoline and 30 cubi-containers containing an estimated 7,920 gallons of diesel for 10,450 gallons of smuggled fuel.
The crew did not present the documentation proving the legal origin of the fuel, so the boats were immobilized, the fuel was confiscated and the six individuals were arrested, who were put into custody of the authority for the corresponding judicial proceedings.
According to military intelligence information, the fuel would be destined to strengthen the illicit activities of the Residual Organized Armed Group- GAO-r, Structure 30 Jonier Toro Arenas, significantly hitting its logistics and supply capacity.
