With the aim of improving the quality of life of the Pacific communities, the Colombian Navy, in coordination with public and private institutions, carried out a development support activity that benefited 2,223 inhabitants, in the village of Termales, a rural area of the municipality of Nuquí, in the department of Chocó.
For five days, approximately one hundred people, including military personnel, health professionals and volunteers, provided medical assistance in physiotherapy, general medicine, dentistry, psychology, oral prostheses, among other services, in sectors such as Arusí, Coquí, Joví, Jurubirá, Panguí, Guadual, Yucal, Playita, Jagua, Puerto Indio and La Loma.
The attendees in the same way enjoyed recreational activities and humanitarian aid distribution, such as food supplement, clothing, food baskets and toys.
This activity was led by the Pacific Naval Force, through the Pacific Coast Guard Group, and had the support of the Mayor's Office of Nuquí, Satena Airline, Termales school, Corporación de Estudios de la Salud- CES, las fundaciones Caballito de Mar y La Esencia de la Sabiduría – LAESS and the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing, who contributed to the well-being and development of the department of Chocó communities.
During the year, the Pacific Naval Force, through its units, has benefited more than 60 thousand people with activities aimed at contributing and strengthening the social wellbeing of the inhabitants of this region of the country.
