The shipment, hidden in a truck, would have left Cauca and would be destined to finance the criminal structures that commit crimes in the department.
In a powerful operation against drug trafficking, troops of the 26th Cacique Pigoanza Infantry Battalion and the 6th Light Cavalry Group of the Ninth Brigade, in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Police, found 1,084 kilograms of marijuana, equivalent to 1,041,000 doses. The first military operation was carried out on the I-24 highway, in the sector of Puerto Seco in Gigante, Huila department.
The operation took place at a checkpoint, where an NPR-type vehicle was intercepted transporting marijuana camouflaged in boxes, hidden under another load of merchandise. The authorities arrested two people, who will have to face charges for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.
According to the investigations, the drug was of the department of Cauca and would have an estimated cost of more than 1200 million pesos in the Colombian market, and about 6904 million pesos abroad. It is presumed that the shipment belonged to the Hernando Gonz谩lez Acosta Group, of the Isa铆as Pardo Central Bloc, a structure specialized in criminal financing through the trafficking of illicit substances.
Through this result, Colombian National Army continues to weaken the sources of financing for the organized armed groups that commit crimes in the region, reaffirming its commitment to the security and tranquility of the inhabitants of Huila.
