Laboratory with 8 structures for the production of cocaine hydrochloride is dismantled in the department of Meta, by Colombian National Army
This laboratory produced about 600 kilograms of this psychoactive substance weekly and its destruction represents a loss of more than 3500 million pesos.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan and through intelligence work, the Omega Task Force of Colombian National Army, in joint and coordinated work with the National Navy of Colombia, the Colombian Aerospace Force and the National Police, found and dismantled a cocaine hydrochloride production laboratory in the village of Caquetania, in the municipality of La Macarena, Meta.
After making the landing with the support of Colombian National Army Aviation, soldiers trained with differential resources of the Direct operation and Reconnaissance Battalion No. 1, of the Rapid Deployment Force No. 1, found a megalaboratory, which had eight structures of different dimensions that would belong to the illicit activities linked to the residual organized armed group.
More than 470 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, 110 gallons of gasoline, 54 gallons of DIESEL, 25 gallons of hydrochloric acid, 300 gallons of acetone, 75 kilograms of sodium metabisulfite, 150 kilograms of lime and 100 kilograms of cement were found by troops there.
Among the machinery and equipment was found a distillation tower, an industrial electricity generator, a drying table, a hydraulic press, a heater, 4 resistors, 5 microwave ovens, 2 precision scales, a packing table, 50 rolls tape, 2 sheets of paper for drying, an electrical system, a light breacker, 8 light bulbs, a sanitary, 2 water tanks with capacity 500 liters and 32 barrels.
The planted capacity of these laboratories led to an approximate monthly production of 600 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, with an estimated cost of 4,000 million pesos, which represents a significant blow to the financial structure of drug trafficking in the south of the department.
The Omega Task Force reaffirms its commitment in the fight against organized armed groups and continues to carry out operations to neutralize their criminal networks, protecting the life and tranquility of the inhabitants in the department of Meta, Caquetá and Guaviare.
