With a distance of 2,030 kilometers from Bolívar to Vichada, this is the longest journey by land made by the Naval Institution in a mobility operation.
This tactical unit, was arranged by the Amphibious Operations Brigade and the Navy Infantry Mobility Battalion, to the Navy Infantry Brigade No. 5, which means all the important components of the Colombian Navy.
As part of the strategies to strengthen the resources of the military operation in the east of the country, the Colombian Navy received in Puerto Carreño, Vichada, a new Combat Logistics Patrol - PLC, a powerful tactical unit that will improve the mobility and deployment of troops in this strategic area of the national territory.
After a 2,030-kilometer journey from the department of Bolívar, the PLC will boost amphibious tactical mobility operations, facilitating the arrival to hard-to-reach sectors, such as the banks of the Meta and Orinoco Rivers. In the same way, it is expected to reinforce the tactical reconnaissance task, using the unmanned aircraft with which this Logistics Patrol conducts, thus optimizing the surveillance, control and security tasks in the region.
On the other hand, the PLC will provide support to the amphibious operations carried out by the Navy Infantry Brigade No. 5, in order to promote safe routes for the communities and the troops in the region, who exercise sovereignty in this area of the country.
With the incorporation of this new differential capacity, the Naval Institution reaffirms its commitment to the comprehensive river security and the Orinoquia region, strengthening the freedom of transit, navigation and the control of the rivers that connect the riverside villages.
