In recent hours, 600 soldiers arrived in Arauca. This number of members of the Military Forces complement more units with differential resources of the National Army. These troops have special training and are highly trained in operations against organized armed groups.
The members of the Military Forces landed at strategic points of the capital city and the municipality of Saravena. In the place the troops were sent to the various military bases in nodal points, with the aim to initiate sustained military operations, air assault and insertion, so they will reach the most critical points of this department, in order to meet the commitment agreed with the national government and work for the safety of the inhabitants.
These soldiers join the number of units already working in the department of Arauca, and have differential training in rural and urban combat, anti-kidnapping and anti-extortion operations, first aid, human rights, international humanitarian law and conflict resolution. The military units include anti-explosive technicians and experts in night air assault operations.
Several UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters of the Army Aviation were in the same way used to carry out the different displacements to the areas where the military operations will be carried out, against the armed groups, their logistic and criminal networks, damaging the structures of the residual GAO 10 and 28 as well as the Eln that also commit crimes in that area.
