The structure built in wood, zinc and plastic roof functioned as a laboratory for the production of coca base paste in the village San Juan, in the municipality of San Pablo, in the department of Bol铆var and is the first drugs laboratory destroyed by the Naval Institution during the first days of 2019.
Thanks to intelligence work, troops of the Infantry Battalion No.17, of the National Army, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, carried out the operation where it was possible to find 20 gallons of DIESEL, 20 gallons of gasoline, 25 kilograms of ammonia, 30 kilograms of chopped coca leaf, 50 kilograms of gray cement and other elements used for the production of the alkaloid.
With the destruction of this laboratory, which had an approximate production capacity of 7 kilograms of coca base paste monthly that would cost 5 million pesos on the black market, the finances of the front H茅roes y M谩rtires de Santa Rosa of the Organized Armed Group Eln, which commits crimes in mountainous zone in the South of in the department of Bolivar, won鈥檛 be able to conduct criminal operations against the civil population and all the Colombians.
During the operation, no arrests were made and the material was put into custody of the First Specialized Prosecutor's Office of Barrancabermeja (in the department of Santander).
