Dialogue: role of the Military Forces in the post-conflict

The Universidad del Rosario had as guests the general (in retirement) Manuel Jos茅 Bonett Locarno, former commander of the Military Forces and the Major General, Luis Felipe Montoya S谩nchez, Chief of the Joint Headquarters of Historical Memory and Context of the military forces.

Bogot谩. The Faculty of Political Science, Government and International Relations of the Universidad del Rosario carried out the discussion "Role of the Military Forces in the post-Conflict", where the guests made their respective interventions, to later listen to the concerns of the students and some of the teachers who attended the academic activity.

Major General Felipe Montoya during his speech spoke of the accompaniment that the Joint Headquarters of Historical Memory and Context (JEMEH) has carried out in all the processes of the Commission of Clarification of Truth, Coexistence and Non-repetition, Special Jurisdiction for Peace, of the Search Unit for Disappeared Persons, the Accompaniment to Victims and Historical Memory; all of them to build 'truth' with clarity, ethics, equanimity and professionalism.

In the same way, he highlighted that the "Transition Process" in which the Military Forces are nowadays, seeks to make visible the victims of our institution, where it is hoped to close chapters, but leaving written the reality of what was lived for build the new Colombia.

For his part, General (in retirement) Manuel Jos茅 Bonett Locarno, a professor at the Universidad del Rosario and former director of the Superior War College, highlighted the role played by the Military Forces during the history of the country, which together with the communities have led to   their populations, assuming these tasks with the same professionalism for which they were conceived:  the security of Colombians.
