Dismantling, in Antioquia, of 6 units of illegal exploitation of mining sites

cogfm-fuerza-aerea-desmantela-en-antioquia-seis-unidades-de-explotacion-ilicita-de-yacimientos-mineros-26_0.jpg

As a result of the ongoing operations conducted by Military Forces against all the factors of instability, it was possible to dismantle the six units of the illicit exploitation of mineral deposits, belonging apparently to the substructure Uldar Cardona Rueda of the Organised Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, in the municipality of Zaragoza, in the Bajo Cauca antioqueño region.

The operation was carried out jointly by the Colombian Air Force, the National Army and the Colombian Navy; coordinated with the National Police and inter-agency with the Attorney General's office and the regional autonomous corporation of Antioquia. It led to the finding and destruction of 10 mining production units and 14 yellow excavator-type machines, valued at approximately 6,300 million pesos.

This operation, conducted as part of the strategic line, water, biodiversity and environment, Security and Defence Policy of the Nation, represents a significant loss for this illegal activity, which has generated a negative environmental impact on more than 300 hectares of land and nine kilometers from río Nechí, leaving irreparable damage to the ecological structure.
