Fourteen arrested in the judicial proceedings, among them their main ringleaders, who from the south of Cesar controlled the production, sale and marketing of coca base paste in the capital city of Santander.
Soldiers of the Fifth Brigade of the Second Division of the National Army, in coordination with the Office of the Attorney General and the National Police, arrested 14 alleged members of the Organized Crime Group, GDO, Júpiter, which is apparently in the service of the Organized Armed Group, GAO – ELN; they were captured by means of 8 search warrants.
The facts were reported in several places in Bucaramanga and nearby villages, in the municipality of La Esperanza, Norte de Santander and San Martín, south of Cesar, where the authorities in the same way arrested in flagrante delicto a fellow member of this same illegal group and also found a revolver, a shotgun and ammunition.
In the same way, searches of the properties found in the south of Cesar, a rudimentary laboratory for the production of coca base paste, a seedbed with a thousand coca bushes and eradicated an illicit cultivation of three hectares of this same plant and seized 4 million 391 thousand pesos in cash.
According to the research, three of the arrested were the dealers of drugs to the rest of the organization, who, from the south of Cesar, would be in charge of cultivating, producing and distributing coca base to be sold at retail, in the capital city of Santander. Among those arrested there is alias El Mono and alias Milena, who were the ringleaders of this organized common crime group.
Those arrested were put into custody of the judicial authority; they had an arrest warrant to face charges of association to commit crimes, trafficking, manufacturing or carrying drugs, and one of those arrested in flagrante delicto will be prosecuted for the crime of conservation or financing of plantations.
With this result, the dismantling of this common criminal group Jupiter, which is allegedly engaged to commit to the shipment, transport, storage, dosage and marketing of narcotic substances, is achieved. This operation, in the same way reaffirms the institutional commitment to continue attacking the threat factors that commit crimes in the region.
