Nearly 3,000 rounds of 5.56 and 7.62 caliber cartridges, along with 24 kilograms of type R1 explosive, were seized by National Army troops.

In military operations of offensive action carried out in the region of Catatumbo and in the framework of the Plan de Campa帽a H茅roes de la Libertad (Campaign Plan Heroes of Freedom), troops assigned to the Vulcano Task Force, located in rural area of Sardinata, Norte de Santander, an illegal warehouse of weapons that would be part of the illegal armed system of the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Los Pelusos.

The military operation was carried out in rural area of San Gil, in the municipality of Sardinata, where men of the Ground Operations Battalion No.9 found an illegal hiding place of the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Los Pelusos, which hid about 3,000 rounds of 5.56 and 7.62 caliber, as well as a longrifle, four magazines and a rifle-adaptable sight, commonly used by snipers.

Approximately 24 kilograms of type R1 explosives, normally used by criminal groups in the manufacture of improvised explosive devices and anti-personnel mines, were in the same way found at the place to attack civilians and troops.

This year, the Vulcano Task Force has managed to find nine illegal artefacts hiding places, which would belong to different outlaw groups converging in the Catatumbo region.
