In the Nueva Guinea neighborhood of the island of San Andrés, troops carried out activities with the inhabitants by the Comprehensive Action Section of the Caribbean Air Group, GACAR, with the support of the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing, ICBF, and local people, with the purpose of strengthening institutional trust, generating closeness with people and contributing to the well-being of children and adolescents.
During the activity, 100 school kits were distributed, benefiting 83 people, including children, women and adults of the community, promoting spaces for direct integration and strengthening institutional activity in the island territory.
In addition, they carried out acts of prevention by distributing 35 brochures with messages of zero tolerance to gender-based violence, and a talk on prevention of illegal recruitment was held aimed at 39 people, in which risks, warning signs and assistance routes were presented, strengthening self-protection resources in the inhabitants.
