Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, aimed at weakening the criminal resources of organized armed groups and protecting the inhabitants, Colombian National Army continues to deal powerful blows to drug trafficking in the southeast of the country.
As a result of sustained military operations, troops of the Rainforest Infantry Battalion No. 51, the Twenty-Second Rainforest Brigade, found and destroyed a coca base paste production laboratory in the village of Barranquillita, municipality of Miraflores, department of Guaviare. This illegal construction allegedly belonged to the First Structure Armando Ríos, Amazonas Bloc, Ivan Mordisco faction.
A rustic structure of approximately 3 meters wide by 8 meters long was found at the site, used for the production of narcotics. In the same way, 5 gallons of precursor in process for coca base paste, 6 kilos of fresh coca leaf, 10 gallons of DIESEL, 5 gallons of gasoline, 4 kilos of lime, one gallon of ammonia and 4 plastic barrels were seized and rendered useless. The destruction of the elements was carried out on site, strictly complying with the security protocols and current environmental regulations.
This result of the military operation directly hits the sources of financing of the organized armed groups that commit crimes in this region, weakening their logistical and criminal capacity, and contributing to the security, stability and tranquility of the communities of the department of Guaviare.
Colombian National Army reaffirms its commitment to maintaining permanent operations against illicit activities, conducting in the consolidation of territorial control and the protection of the inhabitants, as a fundamental pillar of security and peace in the Colombian southeast.
