The Colombian Air Force through the Air Combat Command No.5, sent its air resources quickly and in a timely manner to save the lives of three babies and one child of the indigenous people who inhabit the rural area of Buena Vista in the municipality of Bajo Baudó, department of Chocó, who are in delicate health due to respiratory conditions and an abdominal hernia.

Thanks to the coordination carried out by the National Personnel Recovery Center, CENRP and the Red Cross, a UH-60 Angel helicopter and military medical personnel arrived in this region of the country to carry out the humanitarian aeromedical evacuation of the minors to Quibdó in a timely manner, so that they could receive the necessary medical assistance in a higher-level health center.

During the flights, the minors, who were traveling under the care of their parents, were monitored by military doctors and rescuers of Air Force personnel, thus raising optimal and stable conditions, to be given to the ambulances waiting for them at the Alfonso Manosalva Flórez Battalion of the National Army.
