These people are involved in the marketing of narcotics, as well as in the extortion and kidnapping of traders.

In the course of operations, troops of the National Army, in an inter-institutional manner with the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, arrested in the departments of Atlántico and Magdalena, eight individuals accused of belonging to the Organized Gang (GDO) Los Pachencas, for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.

The arrests of these men were made in support of the search procedures, four in Barranquilla, two in the municipality of Soledad and two in Santa Marta.

According to the authorities, these people are involved in the marketing of narcotics in the capital city of the department of Atlántico and neighboring areas, in addition to being allegedly linked to the extortion and kidnapping of traders in the region.

Those apprehended were given to the authorities, who will carry out the prosecution processes for the crimes of kidnapping, extortion and trafficking, manufacture or possession of drugs.

The National Army, at the head of its Second Brigade, will continue to carry out military operations to counter the criminal operations of the criminal groups that converge in the region. It will in the same way promote the security of Colombians through the deployment of its men.
