The Colombian Navy, during a joint operation with the Colombian National Army, in the department of Caquet谩, seized eight thousand kilograms of cement and immobilized a truck-type vehicle.
This operation was carried out by units of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.31, during comprehensive security river operations, where they intercepted and subsequently immobilized a truck, which was transporting 160 bags of gray cement, each weighing 50 kilograms. The 8,000 kilograms of solid cement precursors had as their final destination the Muelle Madera sector, in the municipality of Cartagena del Chair谩.
It should be noted that, at the time of the inspection, the personnel transporting it did not have the regulatory documentation that supported its legality, according to what was established by the National Narcotics Council in Resolution No. 001 of January 08, 2015.
Cement is a precursor used by criminal organizations in the production of coca-based paste. Its finding represents a significant damage to the narcotics production chain in the south-east of the country.
No arrests were made during the operations. The material found was put into custody of the authorities in the region.
