In order to join efforts in favor of the protection and preservation of the natural resources of the Amazon, the Colombian Air Force, through the Amazon Air Group- GAAMA, participated in the first Environmental Bubble of 2023, which was held in the Jungle Brigade No. 26 of the National Army and seeks to counter criminal activities against the environment.
The strategy is created as an inter-institutional group, whose objective is to support environmental and territorial authorities to mitigate damage to the environment, contributing to sustainability and the protection of biodiversity, in compliance with the guidelines and policies of the national government.
The meeting was attended by different public and private institutions of the department such as the Amazon Governorate, the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Productivity, the Ministry of Competitiveness, Environment and Tourism, the Mayor's Office of Leticia, the Amazonas Regional Ombudsman's Office, Corpoamazonia, the Amazonia National Parks Directorate-Territorial, the SINCHI Amazonian Institute for Scientific Research, the National Army, the Air Force and the National Police, who committed to work towards the fight against environmental crimes.
