In an environmental activity full of awareness and commitment, 400 trees were planted in the Calderón village of the municipality of Puerto Boyacá, Boyacá department. The activity included native specimens such as Carbonero, Igua, Matarratón and Cedro, carefully planted to contribute to the restoration of the environment, as a way to honor the environmental commitment on Earth Day.
The Environmental Management Section of the Air Combat Command No. 1, in Puerto Salgar, Cundinamarca, led the important initiative. Through activities like this, a sense of belonging and environmental awareness is promoted, especially on a date that invites reflection on the footprint that every action or activity leaves on the planet.
In an interview, Captain Zulma Rivera, Head of the Environmental Management Section, said: “Planting a tree is working for the future, it represents a real and simple way to combat climate change, take care of water and preserve life. Every show of commitment to the planet transforms the landscape, connects us with the earth and reminds us how valuable it is to protect it.”
With the aim of preserving the biodiversity of ecosystems, the Colombian Aerospace Force, through the different Air Military Units, reaffirms the commitment to sustainable development and the protection of natural resources, in the same way promoting an ecological awareness in the communities.
