In the framework of military area control operations carried out by troops of the Light Infantry Battalion No. 27 Magdalena, of the Ninth Brigade of Colombian National Army, in the village of El Cedro, village of Bruselas, municipality of Pitalito, department of Huila, two individuals were arrested who were traveling in an ambulance-type vehicle conditioned for the transport of narcotics.
What was planned to be a mechanism to evade the operations of the authorities ended up evidencing the improper use of a vehicle intended for medical assistance to hide illicit substances and facilitate their mobility on the roads of the department. The soldiers detected inconsistencies in the structure of the car and, thanks to their experience and ability of the military, they found hidden compartments in the upper part of the ambulance, specifically in the siren area, as well as in other internal adaptations of the vehicle. There were 128 rectangular packages containing cocaine hydrochloride hidden there.
In total, 207 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride were seized, in addition to the vehicle used for transportation and two cell phones. According to estimates, the shipment would cost close to 630 million pesos. The two arrested, along with the confiscated item and the car, were put into custody of the authority to carry out the respective judicial process.
