With more than 400 guests of the Colombian Aerospace Force, the I Space Conference was held at the School of Non-Commissioned Officers of the Colombian Air Force CT. Andrés M. Díaz, for two days in place and in virtual mode via Teams.
During the first day, topics such as aerospace medicine were discussed, led by Mr. Diego Malpica, who mainly dealt with the consequences of experiencing G-force. On the other hand, the space policy was deepened in which, the Political Scientist and Research Teacher of the Superior War College, the EPFAC, and the Intelligence Schools of the Colombian Aerospace Force, Carlos Álvarez, states that the space future for all countries, will be possible according to the planning of the use of the available resources.
On the other hand, Major Jonathan Urbina, Pilot and Head of the Space Management Center, made a tour of the history of space exploration, highlighting the geographical position that Colombia has for satellite launches and the importance that this represents in terms of aerospace power and sovereignty.
The second day counted on the participation of expert guests such as: engineer Sebastián Valencia, who addressed the topic of space innovation in Colombia; the Analogous Astronaut Giova Ramírez, addressing her zero-gravity experience and the psychophysical preparation that men and women from different professional careers with a spatial emphasis go through previously to go to space.
One topic that could not be overlooked is the types of satellites and their implementation in emerging activities, addressed by the international guest from Sweden, Anders Höök, an expert in aviation and defense. Finally, the conference successfully closed with the conference on challenges of Space power with Mr. Mayor Germán Wedge Rodríguez, who spoke about the orbits in which satellites are housed in space.
With the I Space Conference, the Non-Commissioned Officers School CT. Andrés M. Díaz seeks to break the barrier of knowledge about space exploration in Colombia, in order to strengthen the research resources in space by the Colombian Aerospace Force.
