According to the requirement made by the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management - UNGRD, the National Personnel Recovery Center - CENRP, and in coordination with the Government of Sucre and Bolívar, a helicopter was deployed in support of the extinction of the forest fire that occurs in the Palmira district, Algarrobal village, municipality of San Onofre, department of Sucre.

From the Air Combat Command No. 3, located in Malambo - Atlántico, a Bell-212 helicopter with the Bambi Bucket system moved to the sector, carrying out more than 36 water discharges so far on the upper part of the El Ñame hill. , which is part of the Montes de María, where the largest attempt is located; The efforts of the Sucre and Bolívar Firefighters have been added to this arduous work, as have the Ombudsman's Office, the Navy, Army, National Police, Civil Defense and the Red Cross.

More than 20,000 liters of water with retardant liquid have been launched from the aircraft, stopping the spread of the flames.

The Colombian Air Force will continue to work in an articulated manner in fire extinguishing tasks that are required in this area of the department of Sucre to quell the flames.
