1976 will be remembered by the history of Colombia as the year in which women began to be part of the National Army.
Second Lieutenant Erika Chaparro is part of the twenty-eighth Brigade, unit of the Eighth Division, an officer who stands out for her professionalism and good physical condition within the operational unit, a woman who takes on the challenge as all off the other women within the force facing the challenge of updating her military doctrine, in order to be an example and encourage the incorporation and military training of women in Colombian society.
Women have left an indelible mark in the Military History of this branch, gaining each year a step as transformation agents of an army that is in accordance with modern doctrines. That is why Sub-Lieutenant Erika Chaparro, commander of the Military Police Company No.28, assumes and responds excellently to this work, contributing to the training of each of her subordinates. In addition to be excellent officer, she has sports skills and a complete physical condition.
She stands out in the best way, being an example and leader for each one of the soldiers under her command, in the sports activities and operations. The day starts early with jogging training, encouraging and transmitting in each of the chants, the pride of belonging to the National Army, as well as she transmits knowledge and learning in every one of the military instructions and the patrols and perimeter operations. Similarly it should be noted that in the same way she fights for the order and discipline, the appropriate use of uniforms of each of the members of the institution and, in addition, she contributed to compliance with the law and respect for the rules within the military base in Puerto Carre帽o, Vichada.
The professionalism and recognition that has been materialized in the achievements that year after year she obtains as a woman within the army, helps her to climb every step and thus want to reach the highest levels of the military hierarchy.
