Thanks to the denunciation and timely information of the community, it was possible to establish the exact moment when several criminals intended to steal this fuel.

In a quick reaction, soldiers of the Fifth Brigade of Colombian National Army prevented the theft of about 9,000 gallons of Ecopetrol fuel, which was being extracted illegally in the village of El M谩rquez, in the municipality of R铆o de Oro, Cesar.

The action was reported thanks to the timely information of the people who denounced the action to the soldiers of the Infantry Battalion N掳 14 Capitan Antonio Ricaurte, who immediately moved to the point in the poliducto Pozo Colorado Gal谩n CENIT sector.

There, upon noticing the existence of the troops, the criminals started to escape and it was possible to find a tanker-type vehicle with about 9000 gallons of naphtha-type fuel and also the illegal valve from where this liquid was extracted.

The seizure of fuels and their derivatives is a crime defined in article 327-A of the Criminal Code, and according to investigations, this fuel is generally used in the laboratories of structures at the service of drug trafficking for the production, manufacture and preparation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or substances with similar effects.
