Finding and destruction of three explosive devices in the department of Norte de Santander

In recent days, as a result of military operations framed in the Ayacucho Plan, soldiers of the Thirtieth Brigade of Colombian National Army, who have begun their deployment to cover the Democracy Plan 2023, have discovered and destroyed three improvised explosive devices in the municipality of Sardinata, Norte de Santander.

The first incident occurred over the village El Líbano, about five meters from the Cúcuta-Ocaña national highway, where soldiers of the 30th Field Artillery Battalion found a device. In the place there was a 40-kilo gas cylinder, which contained shrapnel, ready to be detonated, damaging this road axis and those who pass through it.

The second event took place over the village of El Higueron, where the military, thanks to intelligence information, found an area prepared with two improvised explosive devices in 40 pounds gas cylinders and two wire cable.

The engines were deactivated in controlled conditions by soldiers skilled in explosive devices, who, maintaining the established protocols, secured the area and safeguarded the good physical condition of the civilians.
