In San Andrés Island, during a coordinated operation conducted by the Colombian Navy and the National Police, it was possible to find 54.1 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 48.7 kilograms of marijuana, which were inside a boat.

The illegal merchandise was found by San Andrés Coast Guard Units and the National Police Anti-Narcotics Company, when conducting a visit and inspection procedure inside the cold rooms of the Colombian-registered ship, which was docked on the island.

128 suspicious packages were found by troops and were put into custody of personnel of the Technical Investigation Corps -CTI- of the Attorney General's Office, who conducted the Approved Preliminary Identification Test –PIPH-, leaving positive result for 54.1 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 48.7 kilograms of marijuana.

It is estimated that the value of this shipment of narcotics would exceed two million dollars in the international illegal market, money that thanks to the decisive operation of the units of the Specific Command of San Andrés and Providencia and the Police Department of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, will stop entering the finances of transnational organizations at the service of drug trafficking. In the same way, the commercialization of 143 thousand doses of narcotics on the streets of the world was prevented.
