The finding was made possible thanks to Naval Intelligence information that led to finding the hiding place belonging to the residual organized armed group, GAO-r, Rodrigo Cadete.
Within the framework of a joint operation, troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No. 31 and the Rapid Deployment Battalion No. 34, reported the finding of an illegal hideout with war material and extortion summons ballots in the Laguna de Cartagena, municipality of Cartagena del Chairá, department of Caquetá.
The operation was carried out thanks to intelligence information, leading to find a point where members of the Residual Organized Armed Group - GAO-r- Rodrigo Cadete Structure - Jorge Suárez Briceño Bloc, would have hidden military material used to strengthen their armed capacity and exercise control over the inhabitants through intimidation.
A pistol, a revolver, a magazine, 329 cartridges, as well as 18 extortion summons ballots were found by troops at the scene, with which this illegal structure sought to demand money from merchants and peasants in the region. The material was put into custody of the authorities for urgent acts and the corresponding judicial process.
Through this result it was possible to strike the armed and financial capacity of the GAO-r Rodrigo Cadete, weakening its command structure and its criminal influence in the south of the department of Caquetá.
