In an attempt to bribe, individuals offered military personnel 100 million pesos to prevent prosecution.
Troops of the Infantry Battalion Nº 14 Captain Antonio Ricaurte, in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Directorate of the National Police, found two truck-type vehicles that transported more than 8,700 gallons of liquid supplies, costing more than 2,647 million pesos and used by organized armed groups in the production of cocaine hydrochloride.
The events were reported through checkpoint activities in the Sanin Villa sector, on the road that leads from Aguachica to Río de Oro, in the department de Cesar, where, thanks to information provided, two people were arrested and these vehicles were detained, with 165 55-gallon barrels of acetone, which would have been destined for the Catatumbo region.
During these tasks, the individuals tried to bribe the troops by providing them up to 100 million pesos in exchange for allowing the vehicles to transit, but framed in the principle of transparency and institutional values, the soldiers condemned this action and proceeded to continue with the respective prosecution process.
Those arrested and the items found were put into custody of the authority, and through this result a potential production of more than 8 tons of cocaine hydrochloride, the financial base of the organized armed groups that commit crimes in the department of Norte de Santander Department, is stopped.
