Five alleged members of the Manuel Marulanda Vélez Bloc arrested in the Amazonas region

Capturados cinco presuntos integrantes del Bloque 'Manuel Marulanda Vélez' en el Amazonas

In the framework of military operations, Colombian National Army, the Colombian Aerospace Force, the National Police and the Prosecutor's Office arrested five alleged members of the finance group of the Structure Jhonier Arenas, of the Amazonas Bloc, Manuel Marulanda Vélez.

The arrests were carried out in the indigenous territory of Puerto Santander, north of the department of Amazonas, as far as the Military Forces went to detain the individuals, who would be in charge of coordinating the finances of this criminal organization, allegedly derived from drug trafficking and illegal mining. In addition, those arrested will have to face charges for other crimes.

Through these operations, the criminal substructures operating in the region continue to be weakened, preventing their criminal activities from continuing to damage the environment and altering the tranquility of the inhabitants of the department of Amazonas.

The Sixth Division, through the Twenty-Sixth Brigade of Colombian National Army, reiterates its commitment to the security and well-being of the community. In the same way, it calls on citizens to report any suspicious or criminal activity through the toll-free lines 147 of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) or the anti-terrorism line 107.
