In the course of a joint and coordinated operation conducted by the Colombian Air Force, the National Army and the National Police to guarantee the defense of the sovereignty, independence and good physical condition of the national territory, it was possible to find war material that, apparently, belonged to the individual Orlando Parra Ramírez, alleged ringleader of the residual organized armed group, GAO-r, frente Ismael Ruiz.
In the municipality of La Esmeralda, in the municipality of Río Blanco, Tolima, an operation was launched and the war material was found including a 9 mm pistol, an AK-47 rifle, a Shangon shotgun, binoculars, ammunition, multipurpose vests, scanner radio and a 50-meter detonating cord.
These results adds to the objective of dismantling the residual GAO front of Ismael Ruiz, and significantly damage the financial and armed capacity of the structure, thereby neutralizing illegal activities that harm civilians and stability in the region.
