Vegetation cover fire in the municipality of Puerto L贸pez in the sector known as finca Garibahi, was controlled with the participation of Colombian Air Force aircraft that conducted a fire extinction mission to contribute to the arduous work carried out on the ground by relief agencies.

Due to the high thermal load and heavy winds in this area, the work to quell the fire was difficult, so a Black Hawk UH-60 Helicopter of the Air Combat Command No.2, equipped with Bambi Bucket system was necessary to assist from the air, the extinction of the fire.

The crews of the aircraft carried out 20 water drops equivalent to 11,352 gallons of water and 10 gallons of retardant liquid in the places, which, due to their difficult access, were not reached by the volunteers, thus managing to extinguish the flames that were consuming the vegetation cover.
