The individuals would be linked to the commercialization of narcotics in Eastern Antioquia.
Within the framework of an inter-institutional military operation, troops of the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Oriente Military Group, of the Fourth Brigade, and the Border Counterintelligence Battalion No. 4, with the Attorney General's Office, reported the arrest of four alleged members of the Los Chatas organized crime group, in the municipality of El Peñol, department of Antioquia.
The arrests were carried out through search procedures, where 2 firearms, magazines, cartridges of different calibers, 7 cell phones, 15 radio batteries, 10 kilograms of marijuana and other narcotics were in the same way found.
Those arrested must answer to the authorities for the alleged crimes of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics; manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition, and association to commit crimes.
Through this result of the military operation, it was possible to directly hit the criminal structures that commit crimes in eastern Antioquia, contributing to the reduction of crime rates and strengthening security in the region.
Colombian National Army will continue to carry out military operations coordinated with the judicial authorities, with the aim of neutralizing illegal activities and protecting communities.
