This powerful blow contributes to the destabilization of the aforementioned illegal organization and damages its ability to carry out criminal acts in this sector of the department.
Troops of the Sinu Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), under the tactical control of the Eleventh Brigade and the Urban Special Forces Battalion No. 7 of Colombian National Army, in coordination with the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) of the Attorney General's Office and the Criminal and Judicial Investigation Section (SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE) DECOR) of the National Police, recently dealt an important blow against the GAO Clan del Golfo Cartel.
The operation was reported in the village of La Garrapata, belonging to the municipality of Canalete, department of Córdoba, where initially the authorities carried out search procedures to a house in the sector, and the arrest of an alleged member of this organization known as Raider.
After this procedure, the troops fought against members of the criminal substructure, which led to the arrest of three other individuals, including one who was injured during the maneuver and who was immediately given first aid under the framework for respect for Human Rights.
As part of the operation, 4 rifles, 3 pistols, 1154 cartridges of different calibers, 20 magazines, notebooks and documents of interest to military intelligence, communications radios with their respective magazines, more than 2 million pesos in cash, 3 motorcycles and a computer were seized.
In addition, members of the Military Forces disabled an armored van that could not be removed of the site due to a possible sedition.
Finally, the military personnel transferred the injured man to a health care center in the municipality of Canalete, while the others arrested and the confiscated items were taken into custody before the authority to continue with urgent acts and prosecution.
Through this important result, Colombian National Army reiterates its commitment in the fight against the armed groups that commit crimes and disturb the tranquility of its inhabitants in the Cordoba region.
