As part of the Comprehensive River Security Plan of the Orinoquía, the Colombian Navy rescued alive four foreigners, who shipwrecked in the waters of the Inírida River near the Bocas sector of the Guaviare River, because the rudimentary boat in which they were traveling sank, leaving them adrift.
The rescue operation was carried out when a river operations element carrying out patrol work noticed that a rudimentary boat was starting to sink due to an ingress of water. Immediately, they proceeded to move to the exact site of the emergency to rescue them and protect their lives.
At the scene of the events, the navy men brought to safety the four shipwrecked of Venezuelan nationality, who were crewing this boat heading to San Fernando de Atabapo - Venezuela.
In the same way, they recovered the sunken boat and transported them to a safe dock, where they were given first aid and put into custody of the medical staff of the Departmental Hospital of Guainía, who assisted them and verified their health status.
