The work of the military operation has managed to weaken the resources of organized armed groups, hit their illegal activities and strengthen the protection for the inhabitants in the department of Meta, department of Guaviare and the department of Vaupés.
During the first quarter of the year 2026, the men and women of the Fourth Division of Colombian National Army carry out sustained military operations in the departments of Meta, Guaviare and Vaupés, with powerful results in the fight against threats that hit the security and well-being of the inhabitants.
In the framework of these acts, it was possible to recover seven minors who were in the possession of residual organized armed groups, reaffirming the institutional commitment to the protection of children and the restitution of their rights.
In the same way, the operations led to a direct attack on criminal structures, with 151 effects on the threat, represented by 31 surrenders, 115 arrests and 5 neutralizations of members of organized armed groups, organized and common crime.
As for the control of war items and explosives, it was possible to confiscate 47 weapons of different calibers, more than 3200 ammunition as well as the elimination of 146 explosive devices, including anti-personnel mines, which significantly reduces the risks for the inhabitants and the troops in the area of operations.
In the fight against drug trafficking, the troops directly hit illicit activities with the confiscation of more than 1300 kilograms of cocaine, about 2000 kilograms of marijuana, as well as the destruction of 11 laboratories for the production of illicit substances and the confiscation of liquid and solid precursors used in the production of narcotics.
In the same way, important results were obtained in the protection of the environment in the Amazon, with the planting of 1787 seedlings, the confiscation of illegal wood and the recovery of animal specimens, in order to contribute to the preservation of natural resources in the region.
In the framework of operations against illicit activities, 8 illegal hiding places were found by troops, arrests were made for illegal mining, troops report the disabling of machinery and the confiscation of more than 4000 gallons of fuel, directly hitting the finances of criminal groups.
Additionally, the rescue of 16 people was possible, strengthening the protection of human rights and the security of communities in the southeast of the country.
