Up to the village of Santa Rita, municipality of Ituango, Antioquia, a helicopter arrived in Angel configuration to carry out the humanitarian aeromedical evacuation of a woman who had gone into labor.

Adverse weather conditions were no impediment to the action of the Air Combat Command No. 5, in Rionegro, after the respective coordination with the National Center for Personnel Recovery -CENRP, a UH-60 Black Hawk took off to save the life of the mother and her baby who required urgent medical assistance.

The mother had not received prenatal procedures and presented a high-risk pregnancy, however, the birth did not wait, doctor and staff rescuers on board the aircraft were responsible for providing support for the imminent birth during the flight to the city of Medellin.

A girl was born in the Ángel, safe and sound as well as her mother, they were given to medical personnel who were waiting for them at the Pedro Justo Berrio Battalion, to be transferred to a hospital in the capital city of Antioquia and receive specialized medical assistance.
