As part of the first Medical and Humanitarian Assistance Activity, in Guerima, department of Vichada, a C-295 aircraft of the Colombian Aerospace Force arrived from Bogotá over the weekend with medicines, medical equipment, wellbeing and recreation items to positively contribute to the quality of life of the inhabitants of this area of the country.
The activity benefited 450 people, providing more than 700 services such as General Medicine, Optometry, Dentistry and Family Medicine, an inter-institutional operation with the Mayor's Office of Cumaribo, Vichada, the support of the Professional Officers of the Reserve of this military institution, the Juan N. Corpas Foundation and private companies in the region.
The Güerima School adapted its facilities so that the indigenous reserves of Puerto principe, Chupabe and Chocón could receive medical assistance, school kits, bicycles, toys and participate in wellbeing activities such as children's recreation, personal care, among others.
In addition, in alliance with the Minuto de Dios Organization Corporation, the Volunteer Optometrists Foundation of Colombia and Colsubsidio Drugstores, clothing, vision correction glasses and 216 prescription medicines valued at more than 32 million pesos were distributed to the inhabitants of this part of the country.
