Troops of the Seventh Brigade, in coordination with the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Police, arrested alias 脫scar, who was allegedly in charge of ordering selective homicides and coordinating extortions and kidnappings of businessmen, merchants and ranchers.
The Agamenon Operation against the structures of the GAO Clan del Golfo seeks to weaken their criminal operations at the national level and today already leaves its first results in the Eastern Plains.
Alias 脫scar, with 40 years of age, specialized in strengthening the financial subsystem of the GAO Clan del Golfo, through the collection of money from extortive fees in the municipalities of Puerto Gait谩n, Puerto L贸pez, Villavicencio, Cabuyaro and Barranca de Up铆a, in Meta; Villanueva, Monterrey and Tauramena, in Casanare; La Primavera, in Vichada, and Paratebueno, in Cundinamarca.
According to information of the Military Intelligence Battalion No. 4, this guy collected 400 and 500 million pesos per month, for an approximate of 5000 million pesos per year, money that today thanks to this arrest these criminals will stop receiving, being a blunt damage to their finances; it is important to say that whoever did not agree to pay the extortion of money was murdered.
It should be noted that this guy was in the same way in charge of coordinating routes and meetings with international Cartels, weakening the command and control of this organized armed group. The arrest took place while the individual was traveling through the streets of Villavicencio, and in compliance with an arrest warrant against him for the crimes of simple kidnapping and aggravated theft.
The commitment of Colombian National Army to weaken the resources of the threat and to ensure the well-being and tranquility of all Colombians is absolute, and the execution of these operations in the department of Meta will continue.
