Among those arrested is alias El Flaco, allegedly responsible for strengthening the armed structure through the illicit procurement of war materiel.
Within the framework of the Campaign Plan Of the Ayacucho military operation, troops of the Seventeenth Brigade of Colombian National Army, carried out a military operation in the village El Tres, municipality of Turbo, Antioquia, where they arrestes six alleged members of the Fernando Oquendo Estrada Substructure, of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, as well as the finding of four rifles, magazines and four motorcycles.
This result is the product of more than five months of intelligence work, investigation and constant monitoring of this criminal structure, which led to the identification of the participation of its members in crimes such as, manufacture, trafficking and carrying of weapons, ammunition for restricted use, for the exclusive use of the military forces; with this they strengthened their illicit finances, in order to maintain their criminal resources and the control of drug trafficking in the Urabá region.
Thanks to the operation of the troops of the 47th Infantry Battalion, it was possible to hit the armed component of this structure that seeks to expand its criminal operations in this area of the country.
The arrested were put into custody of the authorities for the procedure of prosecution and legalization of arrest.
