The operation has a powerful impact on the finances and logistics of the drug trafficking of this organized armed group.
As part of the Ayacucho Plus Operations Plan, National Army troops, in coordination with the National Police, broke up a cocaine hydrochloride production laboratory in the municipality of Durania, department of Norte de Santander.
Soldiers of the Medium Cavalry Group n° 5, together with units of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate, found in the village of Morretón an illicit complex made of seven structures, where processes for the production of cocaine hydrochloride were being conducted. Equipment such as electricity generators, stoves, microwave ovens, gas cylinders and packing machines were found by troops at the site.
During the operation, 527 kilograms of solid cocaine, 90 kilograms of cocaine base and 242 gallons of cocaine hydrochloride in suspension were seized.
In the same way, 40 kilograms of coal, 75 kilograms of caustic soda and chemical substances such as 880 gallons of acetone, 180 gallons of DIESEL and 30 gallons of hydrochloric acid, precursors used for the production of the alkaloid, were found by troops.
Through this result, a powerful blow to the finances of the organized armed group, GAO, ELN, was possible, hitting not only the production of narcotics, but in the same way the entire criminal logistics chain related to the procurement, transportation and transformation of chemical precursors.
