With the arrest of alias Tato or Batata, leader of the terrorist support networks of the Camilo Torres Front of the ELN in the department of Cesar, as part of Operation Catatumbo, troops of the National Army, in coordination with the National Police, dealt a powerful blow to the logistical and criminal structures of the organized armed group, GAO, ELN, which commits crimes in the northeast of Colombia.
His arrest took place in the municipality of Pelaya, thanks to information provided by Military Intelligence.

Tato had been in this organized armed group for more than 5 years and is responsible for the murders of several civilians in the municipality of Pelaya and surrounding areas, in addition to multiple operations against the Military Forces in the municipalities of El Carmen, Oca帽a, Teorama and Convenci贸n.
This individual is mainly responsible for the illegal extraction of petroleum of the Ca帽o Lim贸n-Cove帽as pipeline, an activity with which he financed terrorist and logistical operations. In addition, he was in charge of coordinating the collection of money from extortion against transporters, merchants and inhabitants of the regions of Cesar and the Department of Norte de Santander, and in the most recent attacks on the Security forces, using drones with explosives. This individual is wanted by the Attorney General's Office, with an arrest warrant, so he will be processed by authorities.
