With the arrest of seven members of this criminal organization, considered the main generator of criminal acts in the municipality, Colombian National Army provides peace and tranquility to the community.
Within the framework of coordinated operations to counter the crimes that disturb the security of the inhabitants of Chocoana, troops of Colombian National Army, in coordination with the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, Aron arrests by court order seven alleged members of the Organized Common Crime Group (GDCO) The Mexicans, including its financial ringringleader.
The operation was carried out through search, review and follow-up work, in coordination with the Fourth Sectional Prosecutor's Office delegated to the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) department of Choc贸. The detainees were wanted for the crimes of aggravated extortion in the degree of attempt and association to commit crimes for the purpose of extortion.
According to the investigations, those arrested carried out illegal monetary extortions from merchants, transporters and community members, for amounts ranging from 5,000 to 5,000,000 pesos. These operations generated a monthly collection close to $15,000,000, which was seriously damaging the local economy and citizen tranquility.
Among those arrested is alias Lorena, the financial ringleader of the organization, with three notations per association to commit aggravated crimes for extortion purposes. Alias Icho was in the same way arrested, accused as a zone ringringleader in La Platina, with ten previous convictions for crimes such as forced displacement, extortion, kidnapping, theft, trafficking and illegal carrying of weapons and association to commit crimes.
During the military operations, it was in the same way possible to find two 38 mm caliber revolvers, a 9 mm caliber pistol, 18 5.56 mm caliber cartridges and a magazine of the same caliber.
This powerful operation leads to mitigating crimes that attack personal freedom, such as extortion, which generates an environment of greater tranquility and security for the inhabitants of Quibd贸.
